Brief Description Of Our Organization
Who Are We?
CYON (Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria) was founded in 1985. It is one of the three statutory organizations in/of the Catholic Church, mandatory for all Catholics and Catechumens between the ages of 14 and 35 who are single. The primary purpose of this organization is for inclusivity of young people in the Catholic Church, and to promote Catholic identity and encouragement through the inculcation of Catholic doctrines and practices as contained in the traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church; To support and be loyal to the constituted authority of the Catholic Church in her mission to the world.

1-Transporting and Feeding members at Deanery St Charles Luwanga feast event.
2-Transportation and Feeding at Deanery AYD program, held on the island.
3-Gifted a member who had his wedding ceremony.

2-Passion of Christ film show and distribution of souvenirs.
3-Visited a member who lost his dad.
4-Hosting of Youth Masses.
5-Full Representing St Hilda in Cyon Deanery and AYD programs.

Challenges And Way Forward
1- Lack of participating members.
2-Most of our members are in school.
3-Lack of financial capabilities.
4-Parent not wanting their sons or daughters to join CYON.
Way Forward
1-Poor numerical strength
2-Clashes of laity meeting with that of the deanery
3-Lack of funds to execute projects due to so much financial burden on the organization
