Brief Description Of Our Organization

 

Who Are We?

The St. Jude Society is the patron saint of difficult cases and desperate situations. The society is known as a praying band, an ecclesial family, and an ardent promoter of evangelization and problem-solving. Our motto is: prayer, action, sacrifice, and evangelization. We are also involved in spiritual and corporal works of mercy

Membership Welfare

Achievements.

1-Prioritizing the welfare of members.

2-Visited a bereaved member who lost their father and offered support.

3-Visited and prayed for sick members.

4-Conducting regular check-ins on passive members.

5-Providing voluntary financial support to the deanery to care for the elderly and sick members.

Achievements.

1-40% of members admitted into the Archdiocesan Council of St. Jude Society.

2-Raised funds for church renovation and beautification.

3-Successful Family Harvest Thanksgiving event, with active representatives on the planning committee.

4-Procurement of prayer books and devotional materials for members.

5-Formal inauguration and membership drive resulted in more people joining the society.

6-Hosted the Ibadan Deanery Council of St. Jude.

7-Members actively contributing to church growth.

8-Observed various novenas, including Lenten novena, Pentecost novena, and novenas to Saints Joachin and Ann, our Mother of Perpetual Help, and our patron saint.

Future Programs

FUTURE PLANS/UPCOMING PROGRAMMES:

1-Feast of St. Jude to be celebrated on October 28th at Archangels Parish, Satellite town.

2-Advent retreat planned for December.

Challenges And Way Forward

1- Poor numerical strength affecting events.

2-Low turnout for prayer meetings.

3-Lack of funds due to economic challenges.

4-Some active members are advanced in age.

5-More passive members than active ones.

Way Forward

1-Introduce monthly dues.

2-Seek financial support from members and well-wishers to secure necessary resources.

3-Regularize visitation to passive members.
